The story of chikankari
Chikankari is the pride of Lucknow, the city of nawabs and tehzeeb. It began as delicate white-on-white embroidery, and legend credits Mughal empress Nur Jahan with bringing it to the royal courts.
Its beauty lies in fine, patient stitches: shadow work (bakhiya) that glows softly through the fabric, tiny knotted murri flowers, and lacy jaali. It's the embroidery of Eid kurtas, Lucknowi weddings and Nani's favourite summer dupatta.
Now it's your dog's turn to wear a little Lucknowi grace.

What's in a name
Chandni
moonlight
The soft, moonlight-white chikankari: calm, graceful and quietly beautiful, like a Lucknow evening on the banks of the Gomti.

“Lucknow is famous for its pehle aap.
Your dog has never once said it.”
They're always first at the door, first to say hello, first to forgive. If that's not royal manners, what is?

See how we give backGood questions
Is this real chikankari?
Yes. This bandana features pure Lucknowi chikankari embroidery in white, finished with red lace, a red pom-pom and an adjustable strap.
What is chikankari?
Chikankari is the celebrated embroidery of Lucknow. It began as delicate white-on-white work and uses fine stitches like bakhiya (shadow work), murri and jaali. Lucknow's chikan craft received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2008.
What does “Chandni & Surkh” mean?
Chandni means moonlight, for the white chikankari. Surkh means deep red, for the red lace and pom-pom. Together, they're moonlight and warmth.
How do I keep the white looking fresh?
Save it for special occasions rather than muddy walks, spot-clean marks quickly, and hand wash gently in cold water, separately from coloured clothes.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure around your dog's neck where the collar sits and allow two fingers of space, then match it to the size guide above: S 9–15 in, M 15–22 in and L 20–30 in. If you're between sizes, go one up; the strap adjusts down.
Is the pom-pom safe?
It's decorative, so please keep an eye on your pup while they wear it and don't let them chew on it. Take the bandana off for naps, crate time and unsupervised play.
What occasions is it good for?
Eid, Diwali, weddings, Christmas, gotcha days, and any day you want your dog to look a little nawabi. White and red is classic for every celebration.
Can I exchange it for another size?
Please see our Returns & Refunds policy for details on exchanges.
