Aamcha laadka
Every Maharashtrian home has that one trunk. The one that opens only for Gudi Padwa, Ganpati and weddings, filled with Aai's Paithani, folded with love and a little naphthalene.
Peshwai Paithani brings that heirloom feeling to the newest member of the family. A bow tie in authentic Paithani silk, so that when the whole family dresses up in their finest, nobody gets left out of the photo.
Parampara is what we pass on. Love is who we pass it to.

पैठणी · the silk of Paithan
For the legendary handwoven silk of Maharashtra, named after the town of Paithan where it was born.
The story of Paithani
Paithani is Maharashtra's most celebrated silk, named after the ancient town of Paithan on the banks of the Godavari, where it has been woven for over two thousand years. Traditional Paithani is famous for its rich zari borders and pallus with peacock and lotus motifs.
In the 18th century, the Peshwas, who ruled the Maratha empire from Pune's Shaniwar Wada, became great patrons of the weave. Paithani became the pride of royal households, and to this day it's the saree every Maharashtrian bride dreams of and every Aaji keeps for the most special days.

What does “Peshwai” mean?
Peshwai refers to the era of the Peshwas, who ruled the Maratha empire from Pune in the 18th century and were great patrons of Paithani. It's a word that still means grandeur and royal style in Maharashtra.
Which size should I choose?
Our bows come in three lengths: S is 4 inches, M is 5.5 inches and L is 7 inches. Pick S for toy and small breeds, M for medium dogs and L for large breeds. See the size guide above for breed examples.
